Signal Hill Elementary School is looking for a professional musician or musical artist to help conceive, develop, and deliver a project proposal to Artstart (AIC).  The “Artist in the Classroom” grants support projects in schools across BC that demonstrate artistic excellence, innovation or risk-taking, make curricular connections, and connect the arts and education communities. Signal Hill has been awarded two AIC grants this year and hopes to continue to develop ambitious and exciting projects to integrate into our children’s learning experience.
The artist/musician would be required to meet with school partners and teachers to establish the project concept and outline the specifications for the grant application. If successful they would be awarded a grant to deliver the project within the academic year 2016/17.
The musician must be BC based, experienced at working in classrooms, and capable of delivering a high quality of work with young people. Grant-writing experience is an advantage.
Deadline for submissions of interest is 29th January 2016.
