Pet Portraits Workshop and Exhibition
This pawsitively fantastic new exhibit is a celebration of the bond between humans and our furry friends. From funky farmyard chickens and horses to adorable feline furballs, this show’s got it all! On display throughout September at the Pemberton Museum.
Learn to paint your very own Pet Portrait with local artist Kelsey Bareham. In this 2.5-hour painting class, participants will create a custom acrylic portrait of their very own pet, with Kelsey’s guidance.
A Pint for Pemberton
Beer lovers can now get their first taste of a new beer by Pemberton Arts Council X The Beer Farmers.
The Pint for Pemberton – English Style Pale Ale is available for a limited run on tap and in 4 packs. Cans feature unique artwork by local artist Aurora Warren. Proceeds will support future PAC programs and events.
Aurora Warren is an illustrator based in Pemberton. She navigates life by drawing on
everything and anything. Pen and ink has always been her weapon of choice and now she is taking that style with her into the vibrant world of digital art.
We asked Aurora what inspired her designs and this is what she said:
“Last August I had taken some photo’s sitting on the rusty tractor that’s in the field at The Beer farmers. I was very inspired by the colours of the rust and the intricacies of the old machine, so that was always a candidate for a piece. I also drew inspiration from other parts of their idyllic location, the rock wall, the painted sign and of course the incredible mountain views.
I thought about all things Pemberton and how farming, growth and wildlife are all so integral to the character of this community. I also wanted to use colour palette that could describe that dreamy feeling of a day well spent in Pemberton”

DIVING IN: the art of cleaning lakes & oceans
An environmental art campaign that aims to raise awareness of the waste in our lakes and oceans by transforming collected trash into beautiful art.
The campaign has been run in collaboration by the Sea to Sky Arts Council Alliance (Pemberton Arts Council, Arts Whistler, the Squamish Arts Council, Lions Bay Arts, The Hearth Arts on Bowen), and West Vancouver Arts Council and North Van Arts.
The art council collective will be working with volunteer divers from Divers for Cleaner Lakes and Oceans (DCLO), local artists, and school groups.
We chose Joe Sauve of Joe Sauve Metal Works located right here in Pemberton to be our artist for the Diving In project.
Joe’s passion for ‘taking materials that are destined for a junkyard and turning them into one of a kind art pieces’ makes him a great fit for this project.
Joe will receive his materials (all of which were collected during the ocean & lake cleanup events this past year) in mid-December and will have a number of months to turn his ‘trash into treasure’. His completed artwork along with six other artists’ works will tour the Sea to Sky region in 2022.
