2023 Youth Mural Camp - with Alex Fowkes

Pemberton Arts Council has partners with the Village of Pemberton to launch a brand new summer camp for local youth.

Brand new for summer is a fun and inclusive mural camp, where participants will get to learn about the art of mural creation and work together with other local students to produce an amazing piece of public art. Led by experienced muralist Alex Fowkes, the 4-day program is open to students in grades 8 - 12 (aged 13-18 years) and requires no prior experience.

Students will explore their creativity, learn new skills, and contribute to the community by designing and producing a collaborative mural at the Pemberton & District Community Centre in Activity Room D.

A public reception will be held to celebrate the completion of the mural. This program is a unique opportunity for young artists in Pemberton to unleash their creativity and make new friends while contributing to the vibrant public art scene in the community.

Pemberton Arts Council encourages participation from underrepresented groups, including Indigenous Peoples (First Nations [Status/Non-Status], Métis, and Inuit), Black, People of Colour, People living with one or more Disability, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, and other groups who experience systemic barriers to participation.
